SIRENS WOMB: DANCE FOR LAMBENT ORGAN
Description of Project
Given the pipe organ’s blurring of instrument and architectural envelope, can we consider practices of fugitive rave lighting in non-club spaces as jamming on a roving lambent organ? With the aid of lambent organ / lighthouse WILDBLUR, this performative-poem/audio-visual-set morphs Room 612 into a sentient room/womb/dancefloor, a translational w(e)aving of the illuminative, sonic, somatic and textual.
This piece blueprints one possible fan-fictive offshoot of Octavia Butler’s Xenogenesis trilogy, and functions as an open invitation for future mythopoethic collaborative thinking and making. Come touch the ecstatic weave (dancing encouraged!)
