"Performance" is at the center of the theoretical, historical, and methodological courses offered in the department. Courses train students to document, theorize, and analyze embodied practices and events. Performance Studies undergraduate courses are open to students across the NYU system. Graduate courses are generally open only for students in the Department of Performance Studies. Non-departmental graduate students require approval from the Department of Performance Studies prior to registering.
