Courses for NYU Non-Majors
Tisch School of the Arts believes an education is enriched through studying the arts. Each semester there are select Tisch courses open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing other majors at NYU. Non-majors can take lecture, production, and studio-based courses.
Permission to enroll as a non-major is granted by the Tisch department offering the course. Policies and procedures for non-majors vary by department. Interested students should contact the department directly with questions about the course or enrolling as a non-major.
If you are a Tisch student interested in registering for a course in another artistic discipline, or if you are a non-Tisch student interested in taking Tisch courses, please be sure to discuss the course options and your degree requirements with your advisor.
Students in need of accessibility-related information who are considering these courses should contact the Moses Center for Student Accessibility. An Accessibility Specialist is available via Zoom each weekday (excluding University holidays) from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. ET to discuss accessibility and possible accommodations at NYU. Email mosescsa@nyu.edu to request a Zoom link. Additional information and resources are available on the Moses Center for Student Accessibility website.
