Title of Project
Independent Movements in Palestine as Site of Refusal
Description of Project
Over the course of the past year, the term Refusal has relentlessly pursued my consciousness, its origins eluding precise identification. However, its presence resonates within the very fibers of my being. Refusal, in my understanding, manifests primarily as an experiential embodiment—a lived reality that I have inherited and adopted as a fundamental mode of navigation and survival within the oppressive and relentless confines of the Zionist settler-colonial regime.
While I strive to transcend personal and collective boundaries, delving beyond Palestine's mundane and quotidian realities, my exploration of refusal necessitates an engagement with a broader spectrum of knowledge. Thus, I endeavor to situate these inheritances within a vast intellectual landscape, drawing insights from the literary works of black radical theorists and indigenous scholars. By incorporating these diverse perspectives, I aim to enrich my understanding of refusal and its multifaceted manifestations, transcending the confines of a particular context and embracing a more comprehensive analysis framework.
