Title of Project
Situations
Description of Project
Situations is a compilation of poems, or a showing of where my thoughts have been wandering as we’ve moved through a year of study and gathering. Infused with resonances of my past, present and future experiences, these poems now mark the Situations I find myself in.
Project Inspiration
The poems in Situations draw inspiration from all this thinking we stay doing. Harryette Mullen’s Muse & Drudge is a forever inspiration that I hold dear to me as I move through this thing called life. The structure of the compilation takes inspiration from The Making of the Pré by Francis Ponge. And finally these words from Octavia Butler’s private journals:
So be it!
See to it!
