Sara Skolnick

Sara Skolnick is an Ecuadorian-Lithuanian multi-disciplinary artist and cultural activist. With sound and performance at the heart of Skolnick’s practice, her rowdy, deeply researched DJ sets reflect back nightlife’s power as a site of joy and resistance. She is founder of record label APOCALIPSIS, amplifying the work of artists de aquí and de allá. 

Skolnick’s practice is informed by sustained work across non-profit, editorial, and music industry sectors. She previously led A&R for New York based label Fania Records, and was Music Editor of digital platform Remezcla. Prior to relocating to New York, she researched digital music production as a subversive tool for healing the legacy of civil conflict and displacement in Bogotá as a Fulbright-mtv ethnomusicology scholar.

Her work has been featured in Vogue Magazine, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times, with performance highlights at Panorama Festival, MoMA PS1 Warm Up, CTM Berlin, and Montreux Jazz Festival.
