Lauren Davis
Arts Professor; Director, Professional Development
Lauren Davis is an experienced music and entertainment attorney who has, for the past 33 years, represented, negotiated and closed lucrative deals for a diverse client roster of high profile recording artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, and music and entertainment companies.
Since 2006 Davis is also an Arts Professor and member of the full-time faculty at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, where her teaching and research interests have focused on the legal and business aspects of the music industry, including the intersection between music and film, theater, television, and digital media industries, intellectual property law, social entrepreneurship, and advancing equity and inclusion in the music and entertainment industries. Davis is also the Director of Professional Development where she oversees the Senior Year Professional Development colloquium classes and planning. Davis is an active advocate for faculty and spent 6 years serving as a Faculty Senator on NYU’s Continuing Contract Faculty Senator Council.
