Cycle of Tisch with Catherine Kirk

On Episode 5 of Cycle of Tisch, Associate Arts Professor, Shanga Parker, sat down with alumna Catherine Ellis Kirk. The two discussed Catherine's childhood dreams of becoming a dancer and how they led her to being an all-star student in the Tisch Dance Department.

Catherine Ellis Kirk is originally from Dallas, Texas, and attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Upon graduating from Tisch School of the Arts, she received a yoga certification through Mind Body DancerTM. Catherine has completed programs with San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Gaga Intensive in Tel Aviv, Springboard Danse Montreal, and had the opportunity to perform works by Fernando Melo, Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Robert Battle, and Alex Ketley. Additionally, she has had the pleasure of working with Danaka Dance, Chihiro Shimizu and Artists, and apprenticing for Sidra Bell Dance NY. Catherine is currently dancing for UNA-Projects, Helen Simoneau Danse, and Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion.
