Pilar Gomez Ruiz

Pilar is a multimedia content creator from Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2013 she started a magazine, Odd Catrina, to explore the role of women in Latin American Culture and to question stereotypes that stem from its pervasive 'macho' culture. She came to ITP to explore ways to make complex information systems not only accessible, but easily understood. She has spent the past year fighting software and hardware dragons of her own making, and her most recent concern is user agency on the Internet. She may or may not spend 50 bucks on a bolo tie she'll never wear, loves all manner of teas and scrolling endlessly through The Fluffington Post in search of curious hairy creatures.
