Daniel Rautenbach
Class of 2022
Daniel Rautenbach is an independent curator, self-taught graphic designer, artist and creative technologist. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in Cape Town where he received his BA Hons (Curatorship). His thesis consisted of an exhibition exploring the post-digital condition using virtual reality as a form of 'hyper-curation'. His interests and research concern cultural power dynamics in the matrix of society, artist-curator collaboration, branding, technology, and of course, the internet. He previously worked at Goodman Gallery and Norval Foundation Museum in Cape Town doing graphic design, exhibition production & other curatorial work. He is currently pursuing his Masters in NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Programme at Tisch. He also likes dogs and questioning what it means to be Afrikaans.
