My mother does not die once. Told with ecstatic multimedia physical animation techniques, Landline is a visual meditation on re-understanding dying and on loving an addict.
Samuel Wright Smith is a visual artist living in NYC. Smith's animated work aims to push limits, invent techniques and break down expectations. Often lacking in conventional structure, he hopes to open audiences to new ways of storytelling and, hopefully, new ways of thinking. Samuel Smith also works as a photographer, cinematographer and writer. He sees art as a spiritual practice in which, in its highest form, the artist becomes a conduit to the creative energy and order imbued in the entire universe. He is most at home sitting on the bank of a creek.
