Samah attempts tirelessly to escape wearing a burkini for her middle school swim meet, feeling embarrassed by its shape and cultural meaning. As she comes of age she is creative in hiding her outer life from her conservative Muslim mother.

Hasan Hadi is an Iraqi writer/director and MFA candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Prior to filmmaking, Hasan worked as a researcher for The Wall Street Journal.
