In the aftermath of the Great Recession, 15-year-old Victoria migrates from the sprawling metropolis of San Francisco to a predominantly white suburb. But being in an unfamiliar environment is the least of her worries: with her piano recital coming up and increasing pressure from both peers and parents, Victoria must learn to accept her family's circumstances.

Ian Tan is a director/editor based out of NYC working in both narrative and commercial filmmaking. He was born in Beijing to diplomats, and frequently relocated between China, the US, Europe, and Africa in 4-year stints. It is during these migrations that he discovered his passion for filmmaking. With the stories he tells, Ian aims to bridge the gap between people of different identities and cultural backgrounds.
As a recent alumni of New York University’s undergrad film program, Ian is currently working at Park Pictures. His most recent work for LUXARI, a real estate agency, screened in the NASDAQ and Thomson Reuters billboards in Times Square.
