Empty spaces and forsaken artefacts in an abandoned farmhouse tell the story of an ailing mother and middle-aged son, Siegfried. Through Siegfried's compulsive writings on the walls, a co-dependent relationship between domineering Mami and Siegfried is revealed. Can Siegfried sacrifice his filial duty to find happiness? The voices of the past echo through the empty house.

A German/Austrian filmmaker, a recent Master's from Tisch School of the Arts, Margherita's feature script "Salt of the Earth", a family drama set in the vanishing world of farming, was selected for the NYU Purple List, IFP Emerging Storyteller Lab and the German writer's lab, "Drehbuchwerkstatt". Margherita has made written and directed a few short films and produced a feature film (Fits and Starts dir. Laura Terruso) currently in post-production. She is currently editing a feature length documentary on subjective experiences of war. Her short: "Mami Sagte" tells the story of an abandoned house and a destroyed family emblematic of disappearing farming community in Austria.
