Tara Sheffer is a Southern director and producer from Little Rock, Arkansas, living in Brooklyn. She has worked as an associate producer of development in the unscripted space, a true crime researcher, Scott Rudin’s assistant, and coordinator at the Department of Motion Pictures, formally known as Court 13.
Tara graduated from Bard College with a double major in film and literature, making films and writing about Jane Austen. She is now an MFA candidate at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film & Television Graduate Film. She is a Tisch Scholar and the recipient of the Sara Driver Film Production Award, the Robert Jahn Scholarship, and the Peter Gould Scholarship. Tara participated as a producer at the Woman at Sundance Strategy Intensive in New York City in 2019.
