A Soul Session: Collaboration with the National Black Theatre
A Soul Session: Creating Our Future Now
A Collaboration with the National Black Theatre
Moderated by Stefanie A. Jones (SAJ)
As part of Community Week at Tisch Drama, the Office of Diversity Initiatives, in partnership with the student group the Alliance, presents A Soul Session—exploring what it means to activate the soul as we create the future we want to see.
The event is a collaboration with artists of the National Black Theatre (NBT), who are in residence for TISCH DRAMA STAGE's Building the Future Now. As the residency comes to an end, we welcome NBT Artistic Director Jonathan McCrory, and inaugural NBT Director in Residence member, Ebony Noelle Golden, to join us in exploring what it means to be an artist today and how together we can develop expansive practices to build our future. This will be done through sharing the legacy, pedagogy, and lived practice of NBT’s founder Dr. Barbara Ann Teer, and culminating wisdom stored in the 52-year-old institution.
This event—part conversation, part activation, part exploration—is for all members of the Tisch Drama Community: students, faculty, administrators, and staff; and will offer conversation, regeneration, and celebration. The questions and answers exist in our collective engagement.
