Looking through the Glimmerglass
Robert is a 3rd year student at the design for stage and film program at NYU. His work has ranged all areas of dance, theatre, and opera. He has taken this time to focus his efforts specifically on making lighting and music 1 in his designs. "I just hear it dun dun dun dun and I'm hooked, we need some blue from here and a blast there that drifts down into a mellow moment" Its easy to see his love for the work. Robert's WorkSPECIAL PROGRAMS
The Office of Special Programs at Tisch School of the Arts provides access to the arts. Whether you’re an NYU or visiting college student, high school student or working professional, we provide you with the introductory exposure to the performing or cinematic arts and the advanced-level training to grow your craft. Individual courses and semester-long programs are offered in New York City and abroad. Our partners and our programs offer you the highest caliber of training in the world. And they are created to give you an experience that is, first and foremost, an industry-level experience.
OPEN ARTS
The Tisch Open Arts Curriculum consists of a series of courses open to undergraduate and graduate students at New York University, including Tisch and non-Tisch students. These courses are specially designed to give introductory exposure, foundational knowledge, and hands-on experience in various artistic fields to students who are not majoring in the field of the course that is being offered.
Students of different majors are given an opportunity to participate in classes in areas such as acting, dance, documentary film, film production, games, musical theatre writing, performance studies, photography, playwriting, producing, and screenwriting. Some of the courses also fulfill requirements and electives for Tisch Minors.
Prior to registering for a course, students should consult their advisor about which academic program requirements the courses fulfill.
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Clubs play an important role at Tisch. They embody the spirit and diversity of the students through the many programs and activities they offer. Tisch clubs bring together students from different departments, and unite those from the same department. They provide opportunities for exposure, leadership, collaboration, networking, and new experiences.
Whether planning major campus-wide events, producing a publication or show, attending conferences or doing community service, a club develops leadership skills and promotes collaboration between students, faculty, and administrators. Students use their energy, skill, and talent to develop programs that contribute significantly to the Tisch community.
