Alisa Mc Gee Bayes

Alisa Bayes has over 20 years of experience in higher education and is thrilled to be in the Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU-Tisch. She has a Master’s of Science in Higher Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a Post Master’s Certificate in Organizational Development from The New School of Public Engagement, and a NASPA Certificate in Student Affairs Law and Policy. She started her career at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and moved to NYC in 2006 to begin a 13-year career at The New School where she provided strategic leadership and direction for the Student Success division serving students in art and design, music, and liberal arts. She served as a member of the campus CARE (Communicate, Assess, Respond, Engage) team to support the safety and wellbeing of students at risk through coordinated intervention and support efforts. She also served as co-chair of Women at the New School Group and was a trainer for The New School’s Safe Zone Program to promote advocacy for community members identifying as LGBTQI+. Alisa spent five years at Sotheby’s Institute of Art where she led the non-degree and global online teams to develop and deliver online and in-person programs for professional and pre-college students. As the Director of Professional Programs she worked closely with faculty and staff across the world to create successful courses and events in all aspects of the global art market. Alisa is a proud alumna of Gotham Roller Derby and a Kansas City Chiefs fan. She leads a local Girl Scout troop and lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, Corey, and two cats, Lil Kim and Mahalo.
