Melissa Mahoney is a performer, teacher, and clown based in New York City. Her work focuses on radical presence, physical comedy, clowning, and play. As an actor, Melissa's work has been seen at Atlantic Theater Company, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ars Nova, Dixon Place, The Bushwick Starr, The Tank, and theaters across the United States. She is also a voice actor, a solo performer (MELISSA MAHONEY IS A ROBOT), and a healthcare clown with the Healthy Humor Red Nose Docs. Melissa has studied Clown & Theatrical Clown Pedagogy with Christopher Bayes, Philippe Gaulier, and Angela de Castro. She was the Movement Director for the 2021 NYU Shanghai REALITY SHOW, a musical sketch comedy show exploring mental health for the incoming freshman of the university.
