Aaron Gonsher
PART-TIME LECTURER, Conversations in the Global Music Business: Learning from the Past and Forging the Future
Aaron Gonsher has worked in music and media for the last decade in a number of creative and strategic roles. He currently contributes as an independent strategist and project consultant for companies including the Glaswegian record label Numbers, Detroit’s Underground Music Academy, and Berlin’s A Color Bright. As the editor-in-chief of the Red Bull Music Academy, he operated at the intersection of editorial and events – as commissioning and managing editor for RBMA Daily, and as the primary advisor and programmer for RBMA’s renowned lecture series and other educational activations worldwide.
Living in Berlin since 2013, he was the label manager and resident DJ for the label and party series Leisure System, which hosted events at Berghain / Panorama Bar and at festivals throughout Europe, and worked as an agent for LittleBig Booking Agency, in addition to serving as a PR representative for labels and artists. As a writer, editor, and moderator, he's contributed to projects by Native Instruments, the New York Times, Endlesss, Nike FC, Berggruen Institute, Boiler Room, Ostgut Ton, Zora Zine, and many more. He has also contributed sound design and research to projects and installations by Jace Clayton, AKA DJ Rupture.
